David currently works as a journalist for ITV's This Morning but he started his journalism career in newspapers. His first role was with the Surrey Comet in 2005 before he went on to complete the PA training course in 2007.

His first reporting role was at the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertisers in 2007 before David joined the Eastern Daily Press in 2010, which saw his efforts rewarded with the Community Campaign of the Year in the East of England EDF Energy Media Awards 2011.

David then joined the Surrey Mirror series as News Editor in February 2013 where he was primarily responsible for editing the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertisers.

He has also reported from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. David has also been the editor of West Ham United magazine Blowing Bubbles since August 2012.

Surrey Mirror Series

David joined the Surrey Mirror series as News Editor in February 2013, where his main responsibility was editing the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertisers - the same two titles he started his career in journalism with back in 2007. David was responsible for leading a team of reporters and helped guide trainees towards their NCE examinations.

Eastern Daily Press

David joined the then biggest-selling regional morning newspaper in the UK in April 2010 and was based at the newspaper's King's Lynn office. David played a major role in one of the newspaper’s most successful campaigns which was awarded Community Campaign of the Year in the East of England EDF Energy Media Awards 2011. The Make it Marham campaign saw 37,000 people sign an EDP petition in just over two weeks to save RAF Marham which was under threat of closure in a MoD review. After almost three years, David left the Eastern Daily Press in February 2013.

Dorking &
Leatherhead Advertiser

David got his first taste of newspaper reporting at the Dorking & Leatherhead Advertiser series in April 2007 after completing the PA training course in Newcastle. In his three years working for the newspapers, part of the Surrey Mirror series, David broke some of the biggest stories in the district covered by the titles and some of these were picked up by national and international newspapers. David left the Dorking and Leatherhead Advertiser series in April 2010.
